Early Life and Background

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was born in Tajpur village, Samastipur, Bihar, to a farming family. His father, Sanjiv Suryavanshi, a former aspiring cricketer, recognized Vaibhav’s talent at age four and built a small backyard playing area to nurture his passion. Sanjiv sold farmland in Motipur to fund Vaibhav’s cricketing dreams, while his mother supported him by waking up at 4 a.m. daily to prepare his meals. Vaibhav is also associated with Muzaffarpur, Bihar, where he practiced at an indoor stadium while staying with a relative.

At age nine, Vaibhav joined a cricket academy in Samastipur, training under Brjesh Jha and later under Manish Ojha, a former Ranji cricketer. By age 10, he was practicing 600 balls daily in Patna, balancing cricket with school. He is currently a 9th-grade student, focusing on both academics and cricket.

Controversies

Doubts have been raised about Vaibhav’s official birth date (March 27, 2011). In a 2023 interview, he reportedly said he would turn 14 on September 27, 2023, suggesting he might be 1.5 years older. His father, Sanjiv, insists the official date is accurate, citing a BCCI bone density test conducted when Vaibhav was 8.5 years old. No conclusive evidence supports age fraud claims, and Vaibhav’s skills, verified by coaches and BCCI tests, align with his records
